Celebrating Sport Outside of School
Wow! Look at all the sport we do outside of school.
If you wish to share any sport or activity you do outside of school, please write a short report and email it to us, along with photos, and we will put it up on this page.
Mullion Surf Lifesaving Club
Mullion Surf Life Saving Club is restarting and is about to start its first nipper sessions at Poldhu Cove, under licence from the National Trust. This allows them to operate for one night a week but is restricted to just 20 children. The Club will use these sessions to test and develop its procedures and coaching styles with the volunteers’ children. Mullion Surf Life Saving Club and Cornwall Council hope to renovate the surf hut at Polurrian Cove for next summer. Once this is ready, the club will be able to welcome lots more children to the nipper sessions. If you are interested in getting involved, please “like“ our Facebook page Mullion Surf Life Saving Club.
A couple of weeks ago, the Club took part in a fun day at Perranporth beach and met up with children from Surf Life Saving clubs from all over Cornwall.
Inca and Ellie completed their first triathlon on Saturday 4th June.
They swam 100m, cycled 1.5km and then ran 1.1km - what an achievement!
Well done girls - we hope you keep up the training and enter another event!
Josie Martin competed on Sunday 15th May at Swallows Gym in Helston in her first two piece Level 4 competition, representing her club in both the team and individual sections. The Mullion Gymnastic Club team received a 3rd place out of 7 teams and Josie was placed 8th overall ,although she was placed joint first in her floor routine alone, in a strong field of twenty gymnasts from all over the county. Josie’s coach Jill Punter said that although Josie had never competed a tuck back before, she demonstrated an extremely tidy front to back tumble sequence in her floor routine.
Ellie and Lowenna played in a football tournament at St. Austell last Sunday. It was a fantastic team effort for the Culdrose U10's. They played superbly, winning 4, drew 2 and lost 1. Excellent sportsmanship was demonstrated. Well done girls! 05/05/16
